Kerry Tassopoulos is Of Counsel and a corporate, regulatory and compliance attorney with Platt Richmond PLLC. He has practiced for more than 35 years in Texas, primarily as an in-house attorney and business executive. His focus has been on helping business leaders, employees and other stakeholders successfully deal with the legal and regulatory challenges affecting their operations each day. During his career he has handled a wide variety of legal issues, successfully designing and implementing effective legal strategies to address complex matters, reducing and mitigating risk to his clients. Prior to joining Platt Richmond, he was Of Counsel with an AmLaw 200 law firm, providing legal and public affairs advice to a variety of clients.
Kerry left Mary Kay Inc. after a 25 year career which culminated in his role as Vice President, Public Affairs and Compliance. During his tenure at Mary Kay he developed experience through his senior counsel responsibilities, managing both inhouse legal staff and external law firms and consultants. In addition, he was directly involved in the leadership of the public affairs/corporate communications, risk management, business research and records management functions. He worked with colleagues in dealing with the Texas Department of Health, the U.S. FDA, OSHA, FTC, and foreign regulatory agencies.
In addition, he served as General Counsel of Jani-King International, an international franchisor, and Director of Government Affairs at Excel Communications, a direct seller of telecom products. These experiences provided him with an understanding of the regulatory priorities, policies, and enforcement approach of state, federal, and international governments as well as FDA and FTC regulation in the franchising, business opportunities, direct sales and multi-level marketing, product claims and product advertising areas.
Kerry is actively engaged in the Dallas business community and supports the continued growth of Dallas and North Texas as an attractive location for international business.
