Jesse Shallcross represents national and local businesses and entrepreneurs in complex commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition, development, financing, construction, leasing, and disposition of a broad array of projects. He has advised and transacted deals on behalf of owners, developers, investors, financial institutions, brokers, and Fortune 500 companies. Jesse and his team routinely assist clients in successfully navigating complicated deals from the letter of intent and contract stages through to due diligence, entitlements, corporate formation, debt financing and equity syndication, closing, and operations.
Jesse’s practice also focuses on sophisticated finance transactions, including real estate mortgage and other asset-based senior and junior lending, mezzanine financing, preferred equity investment, commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), agency loans (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and SBA), and public housing finance corporations. Lender clients include national, regional, and local banks, private equity, and family offices.
Jesse’s real estate and mortgage finance experience spans the entire gamut of real estate products, including hospitality, industrial, office, retail, storage, raw land, and multifamily of all classes. Additionally, he has represented sponsors and investors in the formation and operation of sophisticated joint ventures. He holds licenses to practice law in Texas and Illinois.
Prior to joining Platt Richmond as a partner, Jesse worked in the real estate sections of two national law firms whose real estate practice groups consistently achieved National First-Tier recognition by the annual U.S. News-Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms” survey. He was selected as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” by Thomson-Reuters in 2023 and 2024.
