Alex Jacobs’ practice focuses on commercial and patent litigation and licensing. His experience spans a wide range of industries, including medical devices, oil and natural gas technologies, chemical products, wireless communications, machine learning, software systems, and green energy technologies. Alex relies on his science background to understand the needs of clients when faced with protecting their complex technologies. He has experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in patent litigation and has seen several cases through to victories at trial. Aside from patent litigation, Alex counsels clients on their broader intellectual property strategies and how to get the most out of their IP assets.
Alex completed his undergraduate education at Bowling Green State University with a degree in chemistry. He earned his law degree from the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. During law school, Alex served as Online Editor for the Ohio State Law Journal, interned with the Ohio State University Technology Commercialization Office, and worked in the Transactional Law Clinic where he advised startup clients on various IP issues. Alex was a summer associate with The Shore Firm before joining the firm after graduation.
