Nick Kliewer is a registered patent attorney whose practice is focused on high-stakes patent and intellectual property litigation. His industry experience has helped him in litigating various intellectual property cases involving a wide range of technologies including digital image sensors, signal processing algorithms, wearable biometric devices, and downhole oilfield devices.
Nick has experience in trademark and trade secret litigation, as well as advising clients on clearance and non-infringement opinions, portfolio management, intellectual property diligence, technology license agreements, settlement agreements, and general intellectual property matters. Nick also has experience procuring new patents and challenging and defending issued patents before the USPTO and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Before starting his legal career, Nick worked for over a decade as an electrical design and applications engineer in the semiconductor industry. He has experience designing, testing, and debugging complex integrated circuits, developing and testing gate-level algorithms, and creating and debugging code for embedded architectures. His technical background and industry experience help him to take effective depositions and efficiently prepare clients and experts for depositions.
Nick’s hobbies and interests include supporting local music and theater. He is also a private pilot and enjoys flying when he gets the chance. Most of all, he enjoys time with his family including teaching piano to his two sons.
